hyper-masculinity

Hyper-masculinity is a psychological term for the exaggeration of male stereotypical behavior. in other words its what people assume males potentially act around women generally in an aggressive manner being "your hot im a man i deserve to hump you" i personally believe that men who commit sexual acts of violence can suffer from Hyper-masculinity and others don't. i think it all depends on wear they were raised and how they were brought up to view women in the wold. Men that believe women are material objects and can be "owned" are more then likely suffering from hyper-masculinity where men who are brought up to respect women are more likely to be more of a gentleman and less of a sexual predator 

Long and Short Term affects of Sexual assault

like in the law in order SVU episode its very apparent that there are several long and short term effects to being sexually assaulted, in the episode Harper is sexually assaulted and right away shows the effects of what can happen, the stress of the rape kit, feeling uneasy, having to retell and re live in her mind the whole traumatic event. after 6 months of no closer of the event she starts to show more of the long term effects of the insistent, wearing shoes to bed, taking martial arts classes , not having sexual intercourse with her boyfriend and eventually leaving her boyfriend. even thou this is a fictional story it demonstrates quite a few long lasting effects sexual assaults can leave on a person.

in my opinion something we could do to soften the terrible impact on victims is give them support don't badgger them and make them re-live the event just be supportive and have the government offer more support groups therapy etc   and not let the media so far into the victims life and exploiting there emotions the event was hard enough on the victim without the media turning lies into stories.
